The Kesenai Cultural Association, also known as Kesenai NGO, is a Non-Governmental Organization which is entirely Non-Profit. It was established in Cluj-Napoca; its main purpose is to promote the Japanese culture among the populace of Romania and the European Union; we welcome people from all walks of life and encourage those of any age to engage in our activities.
The Kesenai Cultural Association aims to contribute to deliver knowledge of the rich heritage of Japan to a large audience from two parts of the globe. Our desire is to contribute to cultural exchanges between Romania/ the European Union and Japan via mutual promotions.
In this aspect, the Kesenai Cultural Association:
- Promotes and supports cultural events focusing on the traditional and conservative values of the country of the Rising Sun;
- Promotes and supports events that expand the knowledge of new types of artistic manifestations, for e.g. painting, cinematography, music, modern crafts, etc.;
- Promotes and supports competitions, exhibitions, thematic courses in Romania and the European Union
- Aims to publish books and magazines related to Japan`s rich culture and civilization
- Gives those of the public who are interested the opportunity to participate in various diplomatic projects, created with the help of official Japanese representatives in Romania and/or the European Union and the Romanian/European society;
- Provides those of the public who are interested with the knowledge about projects undertaken by the Kesenai Cultural Association and other associations both in Romania and the European Union, but also from the Japanese archipelago.
Our Vision
Given the distance between Europe and Japan, the Kesenai Cultural Association wants to act as a bridge between the people of the two countries. The capacity and availabitlity of the Kesenai Cultural Association and the support and appreciation of the general public are just some of the factors that will make our dream and your desire come true.
To be politcally correct towards the people that give us confidence and support and to distinguish ourselves (the Kesenai Cultural Association) from other NGOs on the cultural market in Romania and the European Union, we intend to train every member of the association, with our own expenses, and offer them unique opportunities – for example, meeting Japanese celebrities or travelling to the country of the Rising Sun with only the need for pocket money.
We need members and volunteers trained in diferent areas of exprestise such as traditional and contemporary Japanese culture, Japanese language, foreign languages, marketing, graphics and design, public relations, human resources, journalism, law and legislation, documentation, international relations, project finance, sociology and diplomacy. We need volunteers with such expertise to help us develop and create links with the society we live in, ties that will be reflected in exhibitions, festivals, etc. or civic, humanitarian, charitable actions, etc.
